Cranberry Hearts. Valentine's Day Dog Treats (DIY)

  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 Cup of almond flour
  • 1/2 Cup of dried cranberries
  • 1 Spoon of coconut oil
  • 6 Spoons of coconut flour

  • 2 Bowls
  • 1 Small heart shaped (1 inch or 1 1/2 inches)
  • 1 Rolling Pin
  • 1 Baking Pan
  • 1 Hand mixer

Mix two eggs and reserve. Then add 1 1/2 cup of almond flour, 1/2 cup dried cranberries and 1 spoon of coconut oil and mix. Add this mix to the battered eggs and knead. Continue by adding 6 spoons of coconut flour and continue to knead until the dough is easy to manage and not sticky.
Put flour on the board and stretch dough until it is flat, then with the heart shaped cookie cutter start cutting out your pieces. Put the pieces in a baking pan and bake in the oven at 160°C/330°F for 15-20 mins. Take out of the oven and let the heart shaped treats cool down and then proceed to let your dog enjoy.

These snacks are healthy and grain free. They have a fruity taste and can be shared with your pet on valentine's day. The cranberries are rich with Vitamins A, B1, B2, C, minerals, antioxidants, and other key nutrients, they can help your pet with a urinary tract infection, but keep in mind that cranberries DO NOT substitute appropriate medication prescribed by your veterinarian.

Even though cranberries are good for dogs, don't let your pooch eat an excessive amount of them. Eating a large amount of these at a time may upset your dog's stomach and give him diarrhea.

WARNING: This recipe is meant to be a treat and should not replace a proper meal for your dog. Always check with your vet to see if these treats are adequate for your dog or any change in his nutrition.
