What's up, uPet fam? First video of the year, and it's going to be a very, very good video. We're teaching you how to make a custom dog tag using metal blanks. Let's go. For this tutorial we're going to need an alphabet and number punch set, a steel bench block, a hammer, some metal blanks, some random charms, industrial glue, and we forgot to add it to this video but a sharpie as well.

One of the things we like to do here at uPet is visualize what the end product is going to look like. Line up how you want the tag to end up just so you have a general idea of what direction you want to go in, and then continue with the steps. Now let's take a closer look at the alphabet and number punch set. They're basically letter and number stencils that we're going to use to mark our dog ID dog simply by hammering them. These are going to give us the text that we want to give for the ID tag, but it is a tedious process and you might not get it the first time, maybe not even the second. The end result is amazing. Also, you are going to be hammering, so we very, very much advise caution. Just do it slowly, because it's a process, but again, the rewards are fantastic.

Now we're going to take our sharpie and just write over the engraving. Once you're done writing over the entire engraving, you're going to smear off the sharpie. What this is going to do is it's going to give you a little bit more pop to the engraving. It's going to make it look kind of like a stencil. That's pretty much it. The final step is you're going to grab your industrial glue. Just put the glue on the metal blanks and the charm, and just make it look like you visualized it.

That's it for this video. Hopefully you did enjoy it. We here at the uPet family want to wish you guys a very, very bright start to 2016. If you know anybody else that might enjoy these kind of videos, go ahead and share it with them as sharing is caring.
